I had to change the tape on Maddox's face today. It took me 30 minutes to take off one piece. When it was put on in the hospital, it was put into his hairline. I felt so mean. He just screamed and cried. His poor nose was almost raw and red and scaly and blistery. I left the tape off his nose until nap. The tube moves in and out a little when he swallows and if I push it in, he cries and says it hurts his nose. I tried a different kind of tape for his nose, but that stuck to the tube. It was pretty traumatic taking it off. I think the taping is going to be the worst part. Poor guy. Whenever I come near his face he pulls back and whimpers. And my taping jobs pretty much suck. They look horrible. Hopefully that will get better with time. I hope I get the hang of taping by the time of my brother's wedding. Maddox is in the wedding. His tube is already full of sticky residue from all the tape I've used.
We got Maddox outside today. He was pretty hesitant, but after 10 minutes he had the hose and was trying to feed the chipmunk. It was the first time he had been outside since Monday. We're slowly getting back to normal around here and figuring stuff out.
Time for a nap. The alarm on his pump kept going off. All. Night. Long. I couldn't find the kink and ended up shutting it off for an hour in the wee hours of the morning.
