Summer?

Today was absolutely beautiful!!! I took the boys to Lester Park and we walked along the river. It was perfect.I took pictures, but am too tired to load them onto here tonight.

The morning did not start out so beautiful. Our wee little one woke up waaay too early, could not fall back asleep and refused to eat breakfast. He was a b-e-a-r. Clingy, crying, screaming, grabbing onto my legs, etc...I was desperately trying to get us out the door when I realized I hadn't picked out the color for our bathroom and needed to pick it out today. SO, I looked through some paint chips and picked up the box that held them when I dropped it and hundreds of paint chips flew onto the floor. These are in numerical order and grouped together by hue. As I was trying to pick them up, our wee little one kept coming over and flinging them everywhere. I was near tears. (On Monday night our sewer backed up and yesterday was spent bleaching the basement. Our toilet is set up down there now and so is the shower for the remodel. Our new faucets for the bathroom were also in the basement and got wet with sewer water. ugh.)

I managed to get the paint chips picked up, called my Dad to let him know, and thankfully, I don't need to have them in order! Then our wee little one needed a diaper change. sigh.
I asked my Dad's company partner if he could move his truck so we could leave, he waited in the driveway for me as I looked desperately for my keys. I had lost them. After almost 10 minutes of looking I found them and off we went.

I wasn't looking forward to our outing, but it turned out to be perfect. We got to Lester and started to walk along the river in the woods, and I instantly felt better. What a gift! To be able to spend time in God's creation and leave my worries behind and just enjoy the boys. I was able to watch them throw rocks into the river and we just took our time.

God is amazing!

Being silly. I bought those flowers to "dress up" our makeshift bathroom in the basement. We only have 1 bathroom, so for the remodel, they placed our toilet in the basement and there are a bunch of blankets around it for privacy.

Warm Days

We took advantage of those summer-like days we had last week. Especially with the tear-out of the bathroom. Mar. 17th, we headed down to Park Point and hung out at the playground area. It was beautiful and amazing and I am getting so excited for summer!!

I still cannot get over how much alike these guys look. And how different they are.

Push to Hush

Our new smoke alarm has a reset button that says "Push to Hush" on it. If I push it, the alarm will stop for 8 minutes. Do you ever wish your child had one of those? Just when they are having a screaming tantrum?

I do love my children more than anything. I hope everyone who reads this knows that. Lately I have been struggling because Maddox has been staying up until 10:30 or later for the last 2-3 weeks. Mason then has to fall asleep in our bed, which means I cannot go to bed early. ugh. I am soooo tired and long to wake up feeling refreshed.

Some exciting news: Mason woke up with THREE loose teeth a few days ago! His first ones! He is very excited! Now there is a 4th one loose. He's a little nervous about losing them all at once, but they are all not as loose, so maybe he won't. I can't believe he is going to start losing his teeth. Where does the time go? That seems like such a grown up thing to do.

Maddox has a cold now, and they are so hard on him. But today, I found the perfect place to hang out with the boys: Best Buy!! The musical instrument section was a hit!! Mason loves music and drums and Maddox loves music and buttons...so...it was perfect! Not to mention all the electronics with buttons. We will definitely be going back there!

Our bathroom is in the process of being remodeled courtesy of M.L. Haugen Co. Inc. It's been fun seeing my dad and brother everyday. They started on the 17th. I've been taking pictures to document everyday, but just haven't gotten them on here. It's amazing what they have gotten done so far. And the bathroom is going to be BEAUTIFUL!!! I may never leave it.

This morning way before 7am Maddox asked if I would read a book and I said it was too early. His response: "Come on!" yep. Then in Best Buy he asked what something was and I told him it was a microphone. He replied "No it's not!!" Some days I swear he is much older than 2 :)

Overall we are doing well. I think I need to find some different types of toys for Maddox to play with though. All of ours are pretty much quiet toys with manipulatives. But Maddox really likes noise and things he can take apart. I think he is bored with the ones we have. Thank goodness rummage sale season is starting soon.

Maddox's Sayings

These are a few of Mr. Maddox's newest sayings:

"Oh YEAH! This is yummy!" heard at dinner time when it's something he likes.

"Wow! That was AWESOME!" when he falls while running.

"Oh Maaaan!" heard throughout the day for various reasons.

"I don't Wike it!" heard when served a food he doesn't want, at diaper changing, or any other activity he doesn't want to do.

There's a few more, but I can't remember them at the moment.....

Temporarily Suspended

My Facebook account has been temporarily suspended because it was compromised by cybercriminals. I have no access to Facebook. And I am having withdrawals. I didn't realize just how much I use that thing. So.....may be a good time to reflect and pray about what I am using Facebook for. If anyone gets a wierd message from me on Facebook, it isn't from me. I hope I can get back on there soon!!!
