$2 Lesson

Mason lost his first tooth today!!! Talk about exciting!! We thought it would take at least another week before it fell out. He is soooo proud.

I wanted to put a two dollar bill under his pillow for the first tooth and because he thinks two dollar bills are the coolest.

I didn't make it to the bank today, so I was bummed I wouldn't be able to give him a two dollar bill.

Fast forward to late tonight at Cub. I'm standing in line behind a woman who lost her coupons, couldn't find a pen, etc.. (and this woman could be me any day), but I was tired, it was almost 11:00pm. I'm fighting the irritation when it was finally my turn. As I was waiting in line I kept having the thought "Ask the cashier if she has a two dollar bill". I kept ignoring the thought, but as I was paying I asked her if she had any $2 bills. She said "no, those are pretty rare" and I felt a little sad.

That's when the man behind me said "I have a $2 bill". I couldn't believe it!!!!!!!!!! He had one in his wallet!!!! And he let me buy it from him! I felt like I had won a lottery!!

As I was going home, I teared up because that was obviously God. The persistent thought I had, the fact that I had to wait in line so long which gave the man behind me time to get in line behind me....And I started thinking. If God cares about Mason that much and the tiny desire of my heart to give him a $2 bill for his tooth, how much more does God care about all the big things in my life?

Which is why I didn't freak out when I got home and found out our sewer had started backing up and my Dad bought us a Porty Potty to use during the construction.

So I am off to clean the basement with bleach water again and then off to bed. Good night!

J - I loved this post! Thank you for sharing your struggle and how God came through in an amazing way! I need to remember that when I am desperate and frustrated. ♥♥

(Love the stuff heard around your house, too!)

It was amazing. There have been some other big things going on, but I have been able to let them go because of what happened with the 2$ bill. I don't need to worry. What freedom!!
