Mason was involved in a pine-car derby through AWANAS. The children were given a block of pine with slots cut out for axels and some wheels. Mason had so much fun planning his vehicle, drawing out the plans. Pop came over with his tools and helped him cut out the car, paint it and helped find decals and accessories from his (Pop's) own collection of model paraphanalia. I am not sure I have the patience to do models, and I think Mason is really going to love them. I like to start and finish a project all in one day. This car took about 2 weeks to complete.

Go number 68!!!!

Mason just found out he won a heat!!

It was a lot of fun. All of the children were able to race their car 3 times and everyone got a ribbon. They also had trophies for speed and design.
