Last night being 6 years old

Tomorrow Mason turns 7! I can't believe it. These have been the most incredible 7 years of my life. He is growing into such a wonderful young boy. I can't believe he is going to be to closer to being 13 than not being 13. I'll do a post for just him. This is his picture tonight before going to bed.

Trick or Treats! Maddox was a raccoon (although he would not wer a mask. I even made a foam mask and attatched it to a pencil wrapped in foam for him to hold up). Most people thought he was a kitty but he had a blast. I ended up giving people the treats to give Maddox because of his allergies . "Could you please give these to the little raccoon?" I had some strange looks, but oh well. Just wanted Maddox to have the experience without having to grab candy away from him and telling him not to eat something. This way he was able to reach into his bag and and pick out whatever he wanted.

The Eagle Has Landed! Mason loved his costume. Well worth the work and feathers flying all around the house (I think we will be cleaning them up for at least another month). Only 2 people thought he was a chicken. He had fun as well and filled his bag. He had to sort out his candy that night into piles and the next day he and Craig counted each type of candy, recorded it and totaled up all his candy (186 pieces). He also willingly gave up any candy with peanut butter or nuts in it. We left it at my parents so he can eat it there when he is there without Maddox. My mom then paid him for the candy and I replaced it with non-nut candy.

Carving our pumpkin. The boys had a lot of fun. We printed off a free stencil from a website. Mason was able to do most of it pretty independently. He was pretty proud of that.

Here, Mason is busy carving and Maddox is busy measuring. (Cathy, recognize the tape measure?)

Walked into the bathroom and this is what I found laying on the floor.
Rough day for the Army man I bought at Savers for .80 a couple weeks ago.
He does have a uniform.

This beautiful buck was in our backyard today. He is a 10 pointer and is gigantic!!!!

Maddox has been into hats and dressing up. I came home from work Tues night and this is the first thing I saw. What a cutie. Later he was dancing around singing "doo doo doo doo" with his hands in the air and spinning around.

The Halloween pics are darling and I think that was a good idea what you did trick or treating. :) Happy Birthday to your boy!

Great pictures in these posts, J! And I love how you are so creative in working around the food allergy stuff - makes me motivated to be more creative in dealing with our stuff over here, even if it's not food stuff...

Thanks Kathy. The food stuff has forced me to become creative and step out of my comfort zone. I have always been so worried about being different, what other people think, not wanting to stand out, etc...but Maddox's allergies do not allow me to be that way. I guess it's a good "growing experience" for me. Always needing to learn something.....
